Sex Ed for Toddler and Tweens?

Sex education here in the States is constantly at the forefront of discussion for parents and educators. The topic is now a very controversial one in Switzerland as well.

The usually-neutral country is making international headlines with a sexual education program aimed at 4-10 year old students.

Teachers are provided an instruction manual and “sex box” that includes a wooden penis and cloth vagina. The manual suggests that teachers show that contact between the body parts is pleasurable and several websites even report that the manual tells teachers to encourage to massage each other and themselves with warm sandbags.

Nearly 3,000 parents are outraged, but the school board is not backing down — though they have decided to rename the sex box.

What do you think about teaching sex ed to younger kids? Does it change your opinion because it’s not just the “where babies come from and safe sex” aspect?
