Why Would You NOT Want a GPS for Your Kids?

I have read so much about free range parenting lately, and I’m all for it. I am especially all for it if my son has an ever so stylish GPS tracker. I say this tongue in cheek, but I’m a bit serious. I am a child of the 70’s. I remember that my mother would send me to sit in the car ALONE if I misbehaved in the grocery store, I was 6 or 7 when this punishment started. I also remember the pure terror I felt the few times I actually got LOST at the mall or grocery store. Every family has their horror stories about lost kids. Some of these stories don’t have happy endings.

Summer break starts in a 10 short days for my son. This means many outings to very populated places. I really don’t want to be a nervous wreck the entire time, fearing I will lose him in the crowd. I’m going to invest in a cool GPS watch!  This GPS in no way means I can let him run wild, but it does bring me comfort in the event he gets lost. I found a great list of some great GPS options, you can check them out here.
